Valentine Scrapbook Layout | Debbi Tehrani
It's the beginning of January, but it's not too early to start thinking about getting supplies for your Valentine layouts, and Bramble Fox's February Fox Box Plus has you covered! And don't worry if you don't have Valentine pictures because the February Fox Box is very versatile and can work with just about any topic! I just had to use this Fox Box to scrap these darling photos of my friend's daughter. (Please note that I scrap 8 x 8, so products look a bit larger on my layouts.)
I used a Paper Issues sketch as the starting point for my layout design, and I used some older Valentine-themed collections for my page: Crate Paper Love Notes chipboard embellishments and the Love Me 6 x 6 paper pad by My Mind's Eye.
I started my layout by adding hearts to the background using pink tinted texture paste and the Fox Cut stencil that came with the February Fox Box Plus. Next, I arranged strips of 3 different patterns from the 6 x 6 page, and stitched on them in different spots.
The Bramble Heart titles are always a highlight of any page, and this particular Perspextive title combines two features I love--the translucent quality and the beautiful font. I used the bold red of this title to guide my page design, creating a visual triangle with three bold red pieces to create balance and draw your eye around the page. How fun is it that the Wordfetti arrows pair with the "Love" to make different titles? The same is true for several other titles in the Fox Box. I added a pink translucent heart from the Warm Hearts pack near the title to coordinate with the pink View-Master reel Perspextive from the Fox Box.
Here's a look at that View-Master Reel. The Paper Snips in the Fox Box Plus are so fun this month! I used two of the circular embellishments with an Epoxy Sticker to create flair to sit on the View-Master reels. These epoxy stickers come with the Fox Box Plus, but you can also buy them separately to use with other Paper Snips. After matting the photos in red, I decided this page called for doilies, which seems a perfect Valentine addition. The translucent red heart is also from the Warm Hearts pack. A little tip: If you're a huge fan of the Paper Snips like I am, be sure to invest in the Fox Dies #16 | Paper Snips Labels to get a professional die cut look.
How fun are these sketchy black speech bubbles included in the Fox Box Plus Paper Snips? I mounted them on pop-dots. Along with the pops of bold red, they add nice contrast to the more muted colors on my page. The red phrase strips are also from the Paper Snips.
I added the other speech bubble from the Paper Snips up at the top, as well as another bold red phrase strip. And I added another of the Wordfetti arrows to this photo cluster.
One last detail to share: I added the little envelopes (also from the Paper Snips) to the heart cluster to tie in with the chipboard mailbox I used on the other side of my layout. I adhered these with pop dots for extra dimension. Finally, I scattered some bright red and light aqua enamel dots in various spots as a finishing touch.
