Treasured Memories | Jena Leach
Hey Bramble Fox Friends! It's Jena here and today and I'm getting involved in the January challenge, designed by Eva, which is focused on the use of handmade embellishments!
When I first saw this challenge I felt a little overwhelmed as I'm not someone who really ever makes handmade embellishments and I was struggling to figure out what I could make. I had a few ideas which included rosettes, sequin shakers, rolled paper flowers, tassels, stamped or die cut elements and paper bows. Out of these ideas, I decided to go ahead with rolled paper flowers and a handmade tassel!
I started off my making a sunburst background by cutting a sheet of patterned paper into segments. Once cut up, I distressed the edges and added machine stitching round the edges.
I chose my photo and brought in a bunch of florals from my January 2021 HKC kit. I created my own leaf ephemera by using Stencil #23 and a distress oxide ink.
I added my rolled paper flowers to the sides of my photo and I also added a handmade tassel to a paperclip which I attached to my photo. The 'treasured memories' perspextive worked perfectly with my layout so I added that to my white space! I finished off my layout by adding in a few wood veneer pieces and some sequins for a bit of sparkle!
Be sure to check out the Bramble Fox Friends Facebook group for more inspiration and to get involved in the monthly challenges to be in for a chance of winning a £15 voucher to spend in the shop! Entries must be in the correct album by 31st January!
Thank you so much for stopping by, I'm looking forward to seeing all the creations!!
