Today Was Memorable: A 4-Photo Scrapbook Layout | Debbi Tehrani
Don't you love titles that are versatile enough to go with any topic? The January Fox Box has a whole bunch of such titles. I used the "Today Was Memorable" title Perspextive, the Paper Snips, and the Fox Cut stencil in the January Fox Box Plus to create this 4-photo layout. Please note that I scrap 8 x 8, so the products look a bit larger on my pages.
My starting point was the beautiful blue title Perspextive. How pretty are those fonts? I also planned to use the beautiful floral Paper Snips in the Fox Box Plus. I thought a shabby-chic vibe was in order for these adorable photos of my friend's grandbaby, and I found this blue distressed dotted patterned paper from Maja Design and paired it with an old Wild Asparagus pink striped paper in my stash. A little photograph tip: I started with two photographs (the rectangular ones). The little girl was so tiny in the pictures and I wanted to show off how cute she was, so I copied the photos and cropped them into squares, showing close-ups. To add interest to the bottom photo, I cropped and flipped the close-up horizontally. Now I had four pictures to work with.
Before adhering the papers and photos, I used the fabulous stencil from the Fox Box Plus to create a subtle background on my white paper, brushing Spun Sugar Distress Oxide and Dry Sand stamp ink by Ingvid Bolme. I adhered some pretty lace to the torn paper and added a border at the top and bottom of my page. Both the lace and the tearing add to the shabby-chic look, not to mention giving lots of texture to my page.
I fussy-cut the beautiful florals on the Paper Snips to create pretty clusters beside each of the photos. The sweet envelopes and colorful word strips are also on the Paper Snip sheet.
And of course I added hearts to to my page because I always include hearts on the pages I give away. I added three white hearts from the Monochrome Hearts pack to form a visual triangle, two in floral clusters, and one on a light pink fishtail banner tab I attached to a photo. I layered the pink banner on a blue cardstock one that matched the shade of blue of my title.
Finally, here's a look at the upper left photo.
I've mentioned this favorite tip on other blog posts: I always leave my layout overnight and give it a second look to see if anything needs to be changed or added before calling it done and photographing it. For this layout , I added word strips from Vintage Sentiments Paper Snips 055 below the title, and I added some die-cut leaves to the florals and rhinestones for a little sparkle.
