The Dog Who Loved Nature -- Kathy McElfresh

I've been saving the "Nature Lover" title to use on a camping layout but I'm happy to use it here instead! This little girl and this precious pup both LOVED walking in the park near home.

I chose the title first and then picked the rest to complement it! It's from the October Fox Box and it's THE most awesome matte finish -- my favorite! The background paper is by Cocoa Vanilla -- a lovely pale woodgrain that sets off the green elements so well. And it's almost the same color as Sammy, the subject of my page for the Animal-themed Challenge this month!

At the time these photos were taken in 2015 the title could have applied to either Ava or Sammy -- a dog who was "ours" for a short while. Her sister Katie had famously exclaimed "I HATE Nature!" while on a hike on a nature trail but Ava was always exploring and discovering curiosities in nature and even to this day she loves walking to and around the park with her friends.

I was thrilled to find two arrows in my stash that were the exact same matte green as the title AND the polka dot border sticker by Echo Park matches perfectly. The two-tone pink butterfly from Paper Snips 021 complemented the arrows so well that pink emerged as a second chapter in my color story. The jar of greenery and the zig zag border picked up that color as well. There's even a pink squirrel because "Baby Squirrel" was Ava's nickname once upon a time. These exact arrows aren't in the shop at the moment but you can find similar ones in the Office Elements set which comes in two color ways.

There's another touch of pink in the Vicki Boutin "Print Shop" floral bud and in the XOXO Perspextive set atop a scrap from the scallop border for contrast. I think I could use the xoxo motif on every page I make! The set also includes hearts and has both pink and white elements in the same set. Like hearts and stars and arrows -- I can't ever have too many of these!

I managed to sneak in a little more pink, first with the butterfly from the March Fox Box and then with the flair made from a circular element also cut from Paper Snips 021. The Paper Snips and epoxy tops are always included in the Fox Box + subscription -- so many fun ways to embellish! The leaves are actually from the fall-themed Paper Snips 013 -- I just cut the green ones! They add to the mix of greens that reflect all the greens in the park photos.

What a fun challenge we have this month! There are so many ways to interpret it -- animal print papers, zoo photos, closeups of your fur babies or pics of grandkids howling like monkeys! And I'm sure there are lots of Perspextives and other Bramble Fox goodies that would be perfect. Hope you'll give it a try and upload to the proper album on our Facebook Page for a chance to win a sweet little prize to spend in the shop!

Thanks for looking and I'll see you next month with another great challenge and more great products from Bramble Fox!
