Street Party! - Wendy Meffan
Hi Everyone! Happy Jubilee Weekend! I hope you're all having fun celebrating and getting some photos ready to use with the latest Bramblefox perspextives. I have actually documented the 2012 Golden Jubilee Celebrations (only 10 years late!) but these perspextives are timeless.
I started my layout with a mixed media background using distress oxides and watercolour paints for the splatters. I have a very old set of stamps and some papers from Portobello Road by Papermania which I dug out and decided would be perfect for this layout.
One sheet of paper in the collection was a large Union Jack so I cut off the top quarter and the cut it into its components. I distressed the edges and placed the pieces to the right of centre on the layout. I played around with the position of the photos and then placed the Street Party and Keep Calm and Carry On perspextives on the layout until I was happy with their position. I then stuck the paper and the photos on sticky fixers over the mixed media.
Then I stamped some Crowns and the Queen's head and a postcard on to one of the papers. I used a stamp punch around the Queen's head and the Crown and fussy cut the post card. I tucked these pieces in around the photos .
I glued the Keep Calm and Carry On and Street Party perspextives onto the layout.
I remembered I also had a bunting stamp with Union Jacks on so stamped a few rows of bunting and then used watercolours to paint them. Then I fussy cut them and added them to the layout.
The bunting was also on sticky fixers.
I also have a few unreleased July 4th perspextives (coming soon!) balloons and stars and swirls which I dotted around the layout for further embellishment.
Finally I added the date in sparkly thickers.
I used sticky fixers between all the papers on the layout to give dimension.
I love how this layout turned out and brought back fond memories of the day in 2012 and made me a bit more excited about the platinum Jubilee.
Do take a look at all the new fantastic perspextive designs which are coming out over at www.bramblefox.co.uk
Until next time... Happy Scrapping and enjoy all the Celebrations!
