S.W.A.L.K !

Hi Foxy Friends ! I can't believe we're half way through February! I'm sharing a LO today which I made with a theme towards Love as Valentine's day has just passed. When I first dated my husband after 6 weeks he went to the Falkland Islands to build a road for 9 months! We had no social media or phones and all we could do was write letters which were flown out once a fortnight on a military plane. Whilst clearing the loft in lockdown I came across the box of letters which he had kept .

As airmail envelopes are red and blue I chose this for the colour scheme and it was also perfect for the gorgeous red perspextives from this month. I found an old piece of Echo Park Go See Do collection of travel papers I'd been hanging onto and gutted it to give a border for the LO which was perfect for airmail too. I then made a mixed ,media background using distress oxides.

I made a cutfile of S.W.A.L.K. which is showing my age as my kids had no idea what I was talking about! and backed it in lips paper from an old crate paper collection. I also created a mini envelope, and added a letter perpsextive at the side.

All these ideas came together from the gorgeous envelope and letter box perspextives. Such amazing inspiration Morag!

I used some travel stamps too in cordinating colours and was able to put the post boxes over the top.

I matted the photos and found a postcard in the travel papers which I added some journalling to and arranged them on the page. Then I tucked a mini heart cutfile behind them .The little plane perspextives also were so apt for this LO and I added them in the top left corner .

Finally another little bit of stash busting I added some kiss perspextives from last years bramble fox collection.

I so enjoyed creating this LO and it was quite nostalgic to read through letters from the very beginning of our lives together. Little did I know then we would still be together 30 years later!
