Priceless Moment - Wendy Meffan
Hi Everyone! It's August and I'm back on the blog with my first layout this month using the September Fox Box perspextives to give you a taster of what's to come. I have also used Paper Snips #009 and the new epoxy flair which comes as part of the Fox Box plus but will be sold independently in the shop.
I used a combination of collections including Simple Stories Let's Get Crafty, Maggie Holmes Round Trip and a random sheet of paper from August 2020 Hip Kit as their colours were all perfect for the perspextives.
I decided to use both the Crafter Math and Priceless Moment perspextives as I was away on a crafty weekend retreat where Terhi Koskinen was the guest designer. Whilst Terhi was demonstrating to us there was just the perfect moment to take a selfie with out any real preparation which was a priceless moment.
I gutted the 12x12 blue floral paper from the Round trip collection and made a border for the layout. I machine stitched around this.
The leopard paper from Hip Kit was great as a photo mat as it was the right colour for the perspextives and also brought out the leopard print in Terhi's jacket, I felt the photo looked too pale against it so used the B side of the blue floral paper in the Round Trip collection and matted the photo and also bordered the leopard paper. I made a mixed media background over the card stock and adhered the photo and mat just off centre on it.
I then attached the Crafter Math perspextive to the top left of the picture.
I added the Priceless Moment perspextive to the bottom right of the picture.
From here I started to embellish the layout, I added a tag from the Let's Get Crafty collection to the left of the photo and then used ephemera die cuts, puffy stickers and stickers from the sticker book. I added the cute little Craft Time distress oxide perspextive.
I also noticed in the Round Trip collection a purple passport stamp for Finland, this was so perfect for both colour and country as Terhi is from Finland. I added an epoxy puffy sticker over the top creating a flair badge look.
I then moved to the right side of the photo and used die cuts again to embellish. I used a journal card from the Paper Snips #009 and placed it in the typewriter, I added the paint brushes perspextives and the Make Art distress oxide perspextive.
I then moved to the top of the photo and added some word tags from the Paper Snips #009 and tucked them behind the photo on sticky fixers. I cut out the Love This circle and added the clear epoxy sticker over the top to create the epoxy flair.
I was also keen to use the cute paint tubes perspextives and so created a cluster at the top of the layout using a selection of die cuts, puffy stickers and chipboard stickers.
I felt this layout was well balanced even though I had multiple perspextives on it and hope it will inspire you to use more than one on a layout.
