Nautical Scrapbook Layout | Debbi Tehrani
Have you got some beach, sailing, or lighthouse photos? The July Fox Box Is perfect for scrapping these nautical-themed memories! But this Fox Box isn't just for ocean-themed layouts; it's perfect for all your summer and travel photos. I chose several elements from the July Fox Box Plus, along with a few other Bramble Fox goodies, to create this nautical scrapbook layout for my friend.
Please note that I scrap 8 x 8, so the products look a bit larger on my layouts.
I started my layout by creating my background on an old BasicGrey solid paper that I thought had the perfect weather-worn feel. I used the Scallop Background Fox Cut Stencil #68 to create the look of waves in the background, along with the nautical plus sign stencil #103 that comes in the July Fox Box Plus. I then stitched down strips of paper from Carta Bella's By the Sea collection. I added coordinating borders using the awesome Film Strip Borders Fox Dies #20. If you don't have these, you MUST get them. They add so much interest to your page!
I embellished using Carta Bella stickers and elements from Bramble Fox. In the picture below the heart is from the Monochrome Hearts pack to coordinate with the title Perspextive. The tab, label, and seagull are from the July Fox Box Plus, and the circular embellishment is from another Paper Snips from my stash. I used an Epoxy Sticker to make it into a flair. Speaking of Paper Snips, if you use these a lot, you're going to want to get Paper Snips Labels Fox Dies #16, which gives you a professional-looking perfect cut for the elements on the bottom portion of many of the Paper Snips.
How beautiful is the font on the titles in this Fox Box? I paired it with the "Adventure" arrow, mounted on adhesive foam, for a custom title. I love the addition of pink with the nautical colors, and it coordinated with the "stories" tab from the photo above. And how adorable are the seagull Perspextives from the Fox Box? The etching is just beautiful.
I used another seagull in the bottom embellishment cluster. I really appreciate that Bramble Fox gives you multiple seagulls in different positions for use on multiple layouts. I added a brad to the center of the ship's wheel and used my x-acto knife to cut out the spaces between the spokes so that the stenciling would show through. I didn't snap a picture, but you can see I brought in more metal on my layout by adding silver brads in the bottom and top corners of my page.
I used some more metal by stapling a tab from the Paper Snips, a cut-out from a Carta Bella paper, and a turned-over edge of one of the strips, a little detail I've picked up from Julie Taylor. You can see I used another border from the Film Strip Border Fox Dies #20, which has 4 different borders. As a final touch, I splattered watered-down white gesso to give the look of sea spray and added water droplets using clear Nuvo Drops.
I hope I've given you some inspiration for this wonder Fox Box. I'm telling you, the June Fox Box just screams "beach" and "summer" and "travel." You'll definitely want this box, which ships on July 4, so be sure to subscribe now. Here's a look at all the goodies in this kit:
