Mixing old & new Scrapbook Layout | Julie Taylor

This scrapbook layout uses stencilling, ephemera and sewing. It is of Christmas in the Sun. Do you ever get those photos that just don't fit into any category?? I had these of my daughter on Christmas Day but on Bondi beach in Australia!!! do you do a Christmas layout? do you choose to do a summer layout?? NO!!! I choose to mix them & the April Fox Box was the perfect starting point.

I started by adding some sun rays, top left, using Fox Cut Stencil #17 Sunburst, to add a bit of colour & depict the weather & positioned the sun & cloud over the top, out the April Fox Box.

I then built up my clusters using just small embellishments that gave a nod to both summer & christmas.

I chose traditional christmas colours but added in the yellow as the summer element. I found a couple of mistletoe perspextives, in my stash, & they were just perfect to add in the mix.

The title, in the lovely mat black, grounds the page & brings all the elements together.
