Mixed Media Background on a Scrapbook Layout - Wendy Meffan
I've created this layout using mixed media background and used gorgeous Girls just Wanna have Fun perspextive Collection. I also used a collection of perspextives from the Girls Night Out Wordfetti, Girls Accessories,<ini Hexagons and Paper Snips #044. Mixed media is such a good idea if you feel you don't have a paper collection to go with your embellishments!
I knew I wanted to coordinate with the Hot pink colours and I didn't have any stash in the right colours. I used Picked Raspberry and Kitsch Flamingo Distress oxides and made an overall base colour for the layout. Then I used a selection of different background stamps and used black ink to stamp them over the pink oxide background. The stamping area was wider at the bottom than the top of the layout as I had chosen four photos to cascade down the page.
Using a Film strip punch I punched two long strips and again distressed them and then stamped over one of them giving it a bit more interest.
I matted the photos on black card stock so they would 'Pop' on the pink. I positioned the photos and added the Girls Night Out perspextive to the right of the top photo as the title of the layout.
Having placed two of my four photos there was a perfect space to add the Girls Just Wanna have Fun perspextive and then I proceeded to add my other two photos. It was then just a question of embellishing them using the Girls Accessories perspextives, Girls Night Out Wordfetti and Mini Hexagons and Paper Snips #044.
To finish the layout off I raided my stash and used small coordinating Hearts and Star perspextives.
I love how this layout turned out and the embellishment really coordinated well with my photos. it was also fairly quick to create as I didn't have to cut out lots of paper for it!
