Meow: Scrapbook Your Cat! | Debbi Tehrani

Your pets are a part of the family, so naturally you need to scrapbook their sweet personalities and funny antics. Bramble Fox has a bunch of new pet-themed titles and embellishments in the shop, for both cats and dogs. I used several of the cat-themed products (plus a whole bunch of other Bramble Fox products) to document my sweet boy Tucker, who's my constant companion, whether I'm reading or on the computer or scrapbooking.

Please note that I scrap 8 x 8, so products look a bit larger on my pages.

My starting point was this awesome multi-color Meow title Perspextive. This title comes with the outline and 4 different colored letters, plus the white letters that were cut out, so you can make 2 or 3 pages with this one title. I decided to focus on the teal and green (the other two letters are blue and yellow), and backed the other two letters with patterned paper. How fun is that etched paw for the letter O? I perched one of the adorable kitties from the Tom Cats pack on top of the title.

I decided to go with a vertical design and used scraps of paper in green and teal/aqua. Before adhering the strips, I created a mixed media background using the Splatters Fox Stamps #4 with Squeezed Lemonade and Twisted Citron Distress Oxides. This is a must-have set of stamps if you want an easy and sure way to create mixed media. I then used the Plus and Triangles Fox Cut Stencil #6 with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxides to add another layer to the background. After adhering and stitching the paper strips, I stamped those cool black lines using Doodles Fox Stamps #5, another must-have item for creating interest in your backgrounds (this set has 10 awesome designs!).

Now that My background was set, I mounted my pictures on patterned paper and black cardstock and added two frames--a stamped frame and a teal frame made with the Stamp Frame/Chevron Dies. The speech bubble is from the Cat Talk set, which includes 6 pieces, in green and teal, so you have lots for several layouts. The phrase strips I used are from the Cats Paper Snips 023. I outlined them to make them stand out more.

On the opposite side of the page, instead of using paper strips, I added a film strip using the very popular Film Strip Fox Dies #14, which has recently been re-stocked, so go grab yours before it sells out again! I framed my second photo similar to the top photo, and added another sweet kitty Perspextive--how adorable is this one with the little heart on its backside?

If you look at my layout, you'll see that I created three visual triangles with the green, black, and teal Perspextives. I found a teal bracket Perspextive in my stash to help with that triangle. I really like to use visual triangles as they help the eye to travel throughout the page and also help to frame your focal point.

I originally thought I'd write my journaling inside one of the filmstrip frames, but as I was composing my page, I decided that with the two black cats, I needed a third black element to complete a visual triangle. I made a little clipboard for my journaling with a stamped image and a clip from the Right Now pack. I added that teal star from the Cool Stars pack to complete the teal visual triangle. And you can see that I added another speech bubble from the Cat Talk pack, completing the third visual triangle.

I really enjoyed playing with all these products. Almost everything, except the patterned paper, cardstock, baker's twine, and two of the stamps, is from Bramble Fox! I counted 12 Bramble Fox products on this page!

Please share your creations with us by tagging us on Instagram and by adding your creations to our Bramble Fox Friends Facebook Group. I can't wait to see what you'll make with these new pet-themed products!

Until next time, have fun scrapping!
