Make Pretty Things - Wendy Meffan
Hi Foxy friends! I'm up on the blog today sharing a LO using the April Foxbox perspextive 'Make Pretty Things' and the gorgeous scissors which accompany it. I used the Echo Park paper collection I Love Crafting which is quite old but was perfect for this LO. I chose to create a half rainbow as my photos are Lockdown related and the rainbow has been very significant throughout lockdown. I distressed the edges of each portion of the rainbow and then sewed zigzag stitch around the edges. I then added a running stitch around the edge of the whole Layout.
I matted each photo in the papers from the rainbow and distressed the edges, I then arranged them vertically down the page and added the main perspextive just over the edge of the rainbow below the top photo. I added a date tab to the bottom photo.
I then created created a journal space to the side of the photo using two patterned papers, i distressed the edges of the papers and used sticky fixers between them to give some dimension , I outlined the edge in white pen and then added the scissors perspextive to the top of it.
I fussy cut lots of flowers and leaves from one of the floral patterned papers and added them around the corners of the photos and the journal spot. I cut out some of the circles from another paper and distressed the edges and sewed them onto the rainbow like buttons. Finally I added some paint splatters and sequins .
I was pleased with the Layout and enjoyed documenting another crafting facet and contribution to the community during the pandemic. The covers over the postboxes have held up remarkably well through all weathers and still bring a smile to my face when I see them. Its amazing how people's creativity has been developed through the pandemic.
Don't forget to take a look in the shop at all the latest goodies and also post your LO in the Bramblefox facebook page.
Till next time , happy scrapping
