Let the Good Times Roll: Documenting My Cars | Debbi Tehrani

Have you ever thought about documenting the cars in your life? That's what I immediately thought of when I saw the "Let the Good Times Roll" title Perspextive. I remembered a Facebook challenge from a few years back where you were challenged to find pictures of all your cars on the internet and post a collage, which I did at the time. I re-did this challenge to create a page for my "About Me" scrapbooks. This title, some Chevrons and Corners that are new in the shop, and a bunch other Bramble Fox products were just what I needed to make this layout.

Please note that I scrap 8 x 8, so products look a bit larger on my pages.

I used the Legendary collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio and started with a patterned paper from that collection as my base and cut a piece of white cardstock in a rectangle to make a clipboard (inspired by a layout I had seen Morag Cutts create a while back). The Cogs Fox Cut Stencil #102 was the perfect background for my topic. I brushed various Distress Oxides (Weathered Wood, Crackling Campfire, and Faded Jeans) to match the patterned paper. I traced the title on blue paper and fussy-cut it to make the white title stand out against the white background. I added a matching blue spiral punched border along the side made with Office Borders Fox Cut Stencil #21 for added interest and to go with the clipboard/office look I had going.

I searched the Internet for all the cars I've had since I started driving at 16, matted them on black cardstock, and stacked them on my clipboard, in order from the first car at the bottom to my current car at the top. I found some old Jenni Bowlin number stickers, which are nice and small for my little photos, adhered them on punched red circles, and added them directly to the photos. The View Master Reels, created with Fox Dies #17 are reminiscent of wheels, and provided a nice contrast to all the rectangular photos. The road map print on one of the Legendary papers was perfect for my subject. I found some perfect words and phrases to go with my photos in the Vintage Sentiments Paper Snips 055 (especially the "Limited Edition," which is what my blue car was if you read my journaling, which I share later in this post).

Every clipboard needs a clip, and the Office Elements Fox Dies had just the perfect one for my page. I added some chevron arrows from the Chevrons and Corners|Vintage pack to highlight my current car and add some mustard yellow to match the papers. I added the "stories to be told" (also from the Snips 055 sheet) to indicate I have journaling, which I adhered to the back of my page.

Here's a screenshot of my journaling, which documents a short history of my cars.

For fun and a bit of whimsy, I stamped some little dogs driving cars, colored them with Nuvo markers, and made them race on some striped washi tape. I added some blacks splatters on my page using Fox Stamps #4|Splatters.

Here's a peek at the other dog.

Finally, I added some photo corners (from Chevrons and Corners), which also double as arrows.

The Let the Good Times Roll set also comes with the title "Oh What a Night." Both titles are very versatile. Besides using this title for cars, I could see it being used for a road trip or a game night or any good time you might want to document! Be sure to check out all the great new stuff in the shop! I can't wait to see what you'll create with these products!
