Gather! - Wendy Meffan

Hi Everyone! It's Wendy here sharing my second layout for October and this is a very Autumnal page for me using the Gather perspextive from the November Foxbox. I have also used two Foxcut stencils #46 and #50 in different ways and the leaf Woodies. I used the 12x12 Medley paper from the Storyteller Collection by Vicki Boutin.

When I was thinking about the Gather perspextive I decided I would document collecting conkers and the beauty of our world. I used the Foxcut stencil #50 with scattered straw distress oxide as a background. Then I fussy cut five leaves from the Vicki Boutin Medley paper from the Storyteller Collection. I then arranged the photos around the page with the largest as the central feature.

I tried to arrange the fussy cut leaves as though they were falling down the page like leaves in the wind and then added some leaf woodies to each larger leaf.

I then used Foxcut #46 and used distress oxides to colour the smaller leaves in different colours corresponding to the larger leaf colours. I then fussy cut them all and arranged them falling from the larger leaves. I added a few decorative brads for more decoration over the layout.

Finally I adhered the Gather perspextive under the main photo and then used a Campbella gold watercolour paint for splatters over the leaves .

I am not really an Autumn person and the colours are not my favourite on the colour palette as I am far more a Summer type so Autumnal layouts are quite challenging for me I've come to realise but I really love this layout and how it all come together .

I hope you will feel inspired to use stencils for embellishments as well as backgrounds .
