Fussy-Cut Scrapbook Embellishments | Debbi Tehrani
I love fussy-cutting to make accents for my scrapbook pages, and Bramble Fox Paper Snips are so perfect for creating scrapbook embellishments. Pairing a popular scrapbook collection with Bramble Fox Paper Snips can give your layout a completely unique look. The colors of the Paper Snips in the November Fox Box Plus reminded me of a couple of the autumn collections by PinkFresh Studio--Good Times and Days of Splendor. I used the November Fox Box plus a few other Bramble Fox goodies on this sweet layout. (Please note that I scrap 8 x 8, so the products will look a bit larger on my layouts.)
How beautiful is the title Perspextive? It's got a wonderful matte finish and the deep navy color is so pretty. I paired the title with a sweet phrase strip fussy cut from the Paper Snips.
Before adhering the striped paper to my background, I added a punched border in a dark plum to balance the dark title. Then I stitched all the stripes in a paper from the Days of Splendor collection to add some textural interest. I fussy cut some frames from a Days of Splendor paper and a tag from the Good Times 6x6 pad to add some layers behind the photo and also bring some interest to the top of the page.
How awesome is the vintage Victrola that I fussy cut from the Paper Snips? I paired it with a record from the same Paper Snips and added some leaves that I fussy cut from a Good Times paper. I scored the center of the leaves with an embossing stylus to give them some dimension. I found a navy heart Perspextive from the Hearts Special Edition pack that matched my title. (I always add hearts to the pages I give away, and my friends say their kids love to look for them.)
I needed to bring some yellow to the opposite side of the page to balance out the big yellow horn on the Victrola, so I created a beautiful embellishment with the View Master Reel Fox Dies #17. This die set, which includes a large and small view master reel as well as a color wheel, is a must-have! A tiny doily and coordinating brad dressed it up, creating additional layers, texture, and interest.
And a final look at the cluster on the right. How beautiful is the etched detail on the tiny stack of books from the October Fox Box? I added a flair created with a circular image from the Paper Snips and epoxy stickers in order to bring the lavender and orange from the left cluster over to this side of the page. As a finishing touch, I added some Nuvo drops near my three embellishment clusters.
Almost all of the embellishing on my layout was created with fussy-cutting Paper Snips and patterned papers. It's a little more time consuming than peeling a sticker off a sheet, but the result is well worth the time, and fussy-cutting is something you can do while watching TV, not to mention, it's a very economical way to decorate your page!
If you haven't yet subscribed to the Fox Box (or better yet, the Fox Box Plus, which includes the Paper Snips and an awesome stencil), now is a great time! I can't wait to see what you create with it. Please be sure to share your creations with us by tagging us on Instagram and by adding your creations to our Bramble Fox Friends Facebook Group.
Until next time, have fun scrapping!
