Merry Christmas, Foxy Friends! Don't you just love the Christmas season? I especially love scrapping Christmas photos, and Bramble Fox has really outdone themselves with their Christmas collection this year! I had some beautiful photos of a friend and her kids to scrap, and the mint Wonderful set was perfect with the colors in the pictures. This set comes with two gorgeous script words and a shiny mirror-finished star. I also used a couple of Fox Cut stencils, which I'll describe below. (Please note that I scrap 8 x 8, so the products look larger on my layouts.)
I started out with a free Paper Issues cut file that I thought resembled Christmas balls, and backed them with various patterned papers from the Vintage North Pole collection by Simple Stories . I lightly traced the cut file in the center of my page so I could do my background work. I mixed some Time Holtz Distress Ink and some watercolors to create the colors I wanted to use behind the cut file. I needed a little red in the left corner to balance the red on the right, so I added a red heart Perspextive to one of the circles.
I used the very versatile Fox Cut #22, which can be used as stars or flowers or fireworks, or in this case, snowflakes. I used a silvery-white embossing powder to give them a frosty look.
I love the holly from Fox Cut #25. I use a paintbrush and watercolors for the leaves and a dabber for the berries and brown twigs. There are so many configurations of these leaves you can make from this stencil.
I used a fine-tipped pen to outline the leaves and add some veins and also outlined the centers of the circles on the cut file to add definition. A few rhinestones balanced out the lovely mirrored Perspextive star.
I hope I've given you some ideas for using these beautiful embellishments and stencils. Please share your creations with us in the Bramble Fox Friends Facebook group. We just love to see your work. Until next month...
