Excited To be Here! Scrapbook Layout - Wendy Meffan
Have you seen the gorgeous colours of the perspextives titles in the July Fox Box? They just remind me of Summer and are perfect to brighten up any layout. As soon as I saw the Seagull perspextives I was in love with them and knew they would go onto my first layout using the July Fox Box! Padstow in Cornwall holds a place in my heart and we go every year but it is always full of seagulls! This made the perspextives so perfect for my photo. I have also used the Fox Cut Stencil #103 part of the Fox Box plus and Paper Snips #060.
In my stash I knew I had some seagull patterned paper a friend gave me a good few years ago, but I couldn't bear to part with it even though it was only part of a page. I knew this would be a great back drop for my photo! I cut a horizontal wide strip and distressed the edges, sewed around the outer border and then stuck it to the page. I then created a large photo matt using three different papers and added my photo. I also machined around the edges of each paper to give some dimension to the the layout.
I think I fussy cut the whole sheet of Paper Snips and had them ready to use! I added the Excited to Be Here to the top right of the photo, It's colouring actually matched my husband's shorts! I then added a View Master reel from Bramblefox Die #17, the fussy cut light house and hello Summer. I tucked in an epoxy flair and positioned one of the Seagull perspextives on top of the Excited to Be here perspextive. His feet fitted perfectly over the E!
Further down the photo I added the boat epoxy flair and the Noteworthy Arrow, I added the Happy Life tab and Stories tab to the top of the photo.
I made a cluster to the left of the photo around the second large title perspextive using the paper Snips again along with another Seagull perspextive. His feet also sat well on the letter Click Snap!
I do struggle with too much white paper so I decided to create a back ground using the Crosses Stencil #103 which is part of the Fox Box Plus for July. I used the Speckled Egg distress oxide.
Finally I created some pennants for the top edge of the layout and created another cluster using the wooden sandcastle from the Fox Box along with more epoxy flair and Paper Snips. Again I sewed around the edges of the pennants and distressed them.
I really love how my layout turned out and feel it really catches the vibe of Padstow. I think this is one of my most favourite Fox boxes although I do love them all!
