Do You Share Your Birthday?
John and Katie didn't share their exact birth dates, just the month of April, but that was just a great excuse to stretch out the celebration! And it's because we mixed and matched parties for these two that I thought it would be fun to challenge you to document a celebration with a mix of different collections. I started following one of the premium sketches at Scrap a Sketch but changed up the design a bit to make a "ladder" of birthday cakes instead of a strip of photos. I had this die cut film strip in my stash but you can cut similar ones using THIS die set from BrambleFox. I've also used my favorite stencil, Fox Cuts #3 "Splashes".

Even on a busy newsprint background this title piece really stands out becausse of the color and the font. I love this title for my photo because although we'd always traveled to be with Katie on her birthdays this may have been the first she was aware that she was sharing her celebration with John. We'd made a single cake and let each of them decorate half of it and before the day ended John was wearing that birthday hat and Katie's feather boa! This title and that Wordfetti piece were both included in recent Fox Boxes and the same or similar options will be available in the shop.

I couldn't resist using the Crazy Fun piece, also from a recent Fox Box, because of the fussycut cakes and gift boxes brimming with party animals. Here you see several of the different collections I mixed up on this page.

There's a wild and crazy mix of Bramble Fox goodies here -- HEARTS (because I always have a pair of hearts on my pages), an ARROW, a PLUS sign, and an epoxy flair made from Paper Snips 062. The framed & came from an older set and I've had it in my stash for a while. You'll find ampersands in a few collections throughout the year.

This closeup shows a bit more of the fun stenciling as well as the "main mix" of April & Ivy florals with a Paige Evans sunflower, backed with a Vicki Boutin color wheel. With all that color the flat finish on the grey-green geotag was the perfect accent. This was a really fun page to make -- I enjoyed choosing elements by color and theme to create that party vibe! And I'm more than OK with mixing colors and styles of Bramble Fox elements on a crazy, mixed up page like this.

So here's your challenge, should you choose to accept it...... Scrap a celebration of any kind and use a mix of different designers or collections or kits to tell your story! Upload your pages to the challenge album on our Facebook Page and you'll be eligible for the fab prize drawing!
