Coronation Week - Wendy Meffan

Hi Everyone! It's Wendy here sharing my second layout for May using the June Fox Box better together perspextive and the small Us Heart perspextive. I also used the paper Snips #027 along with the latest Butterfly stencil #67 and the Circle Spokes stencil #29.

I chose my photo as it was perfect colours for the Paper Snips #027! I just loved the gorgeous colours of the butterflies and all the word phrases. I made a mixed media background to coordinate with the colour of the perspextive by mixing watercolours together, I then stamped over the top using a grid stamp and then to tone down the pink I used gesso and added lots of splatters. Using the Circle Spokes stencil #29 I used Blueprint Sketch distress oxide to create some circles which I fussy cut ready to dot around the layout.

I backed the photo in a green patterned paper and positioned it almost centrally on the page, due to the diamond shape of the photo I decided to create several clusters around the corners. I fussy cut all the flowers and butterflies off the paper Snips Page, along with the word phrases and added the epoxy stickers to the flair.

I positioned the Better Together perspextive to the right of the photo and built up a cluster using die cut stems, epoxy flair, fussy cut flowers and word phrase pieces along with the stencilled circles.

I repeated this process of creating the clusters around the layout.

On the top left of the layout I had a little bit of spare white space which I felt I could squeeze a little butterfly into so I outline one of the butterflies on the stencil and then water coloured it and added it to the side of the layout, I then inked the dotted trail to the page.

I created a similar effect to the bottom right to balance the layout.

I used three of the butterflies from the Paper Snips and riased then on sticky fixers and again used the stencil to ink the trails in.

Finally I added the blue thickers to create the title over the layout. I love how this layout turned out and really loved the Paper Snips #27! ( possibly my most favourite yet!)
