Cheeky Monkey | Debbi Tehrani

Hey, Bramble Fox fans! Today I'm sharing a fun layout using 7 different Bramble Fox products, featuring the adorable Monkeys from the brand-new Wild Life Collection, and I had the perfect photos of my friend and her granddaughter to go with them.

Please note that I scrap 8 x 8, so the products look a bit larger on my layouts.

My layout design was inspired by this month's Bramble Fox challenge, which happens to be a sketch challenge. The members of the challenge team have made some amazing layouts, so be sure to check those out on Instagram and in the Bramble Fox Friends Facebook Group.

Seriously--how adorable are those Monkeys? And the etched detail is so beautiful! Even the bananas that come in the pack have etching.

I started off by cutting the triangles out for those rays using a bunch of yellow scraps, and when I laid them out, I felt like I needed something more, so I used one of my favorite stencils, Fox Cut #18, and some yellow distress ink to make sunbursts all around the page. I wanted the page to have lots of dimension, so I inked and roughed up the edges of the patterned paper and stitched them on and then folded up the sides before adhering the rest of the elements on top with foam adhesive.

The palm tree stencil, Fox Cut #42 was a perfect embellishment for this monkey-themed page. I used two different brown inks for the trunk and two different greens for the palm fronds and added some detailing with a fine-tipped pen, then fussy-cut each of the parts and adhered them with adhesive foam. There is a circle on the stencil to make coconuts, but I remembered I had some tiny brown buttons that would be perfect for making coconuts and would add even more dimension.

And of course I needed a Monkey hanging from that tree. How cute is he? And there are 4 Monkeys (and 4 bananas) in the pack, so I still have two more to make additional pages. I always add a heart to the pages I give away and I found a pastel yellow heart Perspextive in my stash to match the banana on the opposite side of the page.

The Cheeky Monkey title perfectly fit with the photos--both in color and topic. And the font is so playful! There are two titles in the pack, and I already have a photo picked out for that one! The sweet yellow phrases are from Paper Snips 010 | Wild Life.

There was a large space between the two palm trees, and I used the awesome Fox Dies #6 to make a couple of tags to tuck behind the photos and compensate for all that gaping space. If you don't have this die set, you really should have it because it's incredibly versatile and perfect for adding a little extra layered something on your pages. Some stamping and a few enamel dots added some finishing touches to my layout.

The Wild Life Collection is so fun to work with, especially with kid photos! There are so many adorable pieces to this kit, and you'll even get some exclusive items. I hope I've given you some new ideas to use the monkey-themed products. Make sure you play along with the challenge. Also, please tag us on Instagram and share your work with us in the Bramble Fox Friends Facebook group because we just love to se what you make with our products!

Until next time, have fun scrapping!
