Birthday Scrapbook Layout | Debbi Tehrani

Today I am sharing a fun and festive birthday scrapbook layout. The August Fox Box is so versatile with mix-and-match pieces, and I found the frames and white phrases to be perfect for two fun snapshots from my grand-niece's fifth birthday party.

I used a sketch from Bramble Fox's International Scrapbooking Day celebration as inspiration for my layout design. I used Simple Stories' Celebrate collection. Please note that I scrap 8 x 8, so the products look larger on my layouts.

I started my layout by creating a background using the beautiful stencil that comes in the August Fox Box Plus. with four shades of Distress Oxides (Spun Sugar, Abandoned Coral, Mustard Seed, and Salvaged Patina).

After creating my background, I adhered two panels of the "Yay" patterned paper on either side. I stitched a strip of the striped paper and added a border from the Film Strip Borders Fox Dies #20, which is a must-have product. I've seriously used this on almost every layout I've made since I bought them!

The focal points of my layout, in addition to the fun birthday photos, are those awesome Polaroid frame Perspextives. I chose to put two of the title Perspextives inside them. I backed them with navy cardstock to make the title phrases stand out. I mounted the photos with adhesive foam beside the frames at angles, layering a View Master Reel (Fox Dies #17) underneath for added interest. I sprinkled some stickers here and there for fun, also mounting them with pop dots for lots of fun dimension.

Here's a shot of the right side, using a similar design, but with balloons instead of the cake and party hat. I had already glued down the View Master Reels, and they were sort of getting lost on my busy page, so I ran blue cardstock through my die cutter with the View Master Reel die and glued the little windows in. Doing that really made the die cuts show up as a prominent feature on my page.

Finally, I adhered a phrase from the Celebrate sticker sheet onto pink paper, also mounted on pop dots, to add the third element from the sketch and create a visual triangle. One of my favorite tips to share is to wait overnight before calling your layout done and give it one more look. I decided to add some sparkle and shine by sprinkling around some red pearl brads.

I had so much fun creating this festive layout. I hope I gave you some inspiration for scrapbooking a little girl's birthday! Be sure to check out all the gorgeous products in the shop. There's always new stuff being added. Please share your creations with us by tagging us on Instagram and by adding your creations to our Bramble Fox Friends Facebook Group. I can't wait to see what you'll make with this Fox Box!

Until next time, have fun scrapping!
