A Fun & Playful Scrapbook Layout | Debbi Tehrani

We all have a collection of fun and silly photos, and the playful font used for the June Fox Box titles are perfect for scrapbooking these fun moments! I used the June Fox Box Plus and a handful of other awesome Bramble Fox Products on this 8 x 8 layout. Please note that since I scrap 8 x 8, the products look a bit larger on my pages.

The "Great Stuff" title piece was my starting point, and I set out by choosing colors that would complement that awesome shade of blue as well as the photos. Of course, there was blue and red in the photos, but I didn't want my layout to come out looking like a Fourth of July layout, so I added pink and navy to the mix. As I was working on my page, I decided to add another color--chartreuse--from the little banners I fussy cut out of an old Dear Lizzy Saturday paper.

That navy blue striped pattern in the background is from a bag I had saved from a Bramble Fox Box package--don't throw those away! Not only do the striped bags have a great pattern, but they also serve as a pocket to add more pictures or journaling. The red border at the bottom is made from Fox Dies #21|Film Strip Borders.

I wanted something to ground the 3 photos on the bottom, and found the "I hate to brag..." journaling card, from an old Amy Tangerine On a Whim paper, and it had the playful vibe I was going for and matched the navy striped bag I had used on the top. The "today feels great" phrase strip is from the June Fox Box Plus. Beneath the photos, I tucked an old notebook border Perspextive that I've had in my stash for a while. The chipboard Phrases are from MAMBI.

Of course, I had to use a stencil to create interest in my background, and the stencil in this month's Fox Box Plus is a super-cool twist on the sunburst stencil. I added a few black elements to my layout, and used some chevron Perspextives from my stash. The black chevrons are no longer in the shop, but the in-stock Cool Chevrons pack has an assortment of beautiful blues. This embellishment is so versatile and perfect to highlight things on your layout.

I added another chartreuse banner in the lower left and a black ampersand Perspextive that I had in my stash. The "good stuff" word is from the original Paper Snips 001|General. This is a must-have because the sheet is just filled with perfect words that will go on just about any layout.

Speaking of Paper Snips, the cute record player and the "this happened" tab are from Paper Snips 052|Lovely Music. The colors of these Snips worked perfectly on my page, and the record player tied in with the boom box that I used from the Fox Box. The "good vibes" word strip is from the Paper Snips 001|General. I added some clips and metal elements around my layout for an additional kind of texture.

The boom box in the Fox Box coordinates perfectly with the title, and it was sort of sitting there all alone in the corner of my layout. I needed to add something and that's when I thought of the monster stamps that would bring a playful, whimsical touch to my page. I colored the monsters to coordinate with the colors on my page.

I added a chartreuse brad to form a visual triangle and balance out the banners. Next I placed a shimmery red heart Perspextive (because I always add hearts to the pages I give away), and I still had a little open space between the heart and the monster, so I searched my papers to see if I could find a speech bubble to add to the monster, and lo and behold, I found a blue one (from an old My Mind's Eye Cut and Paste paper). I popped a white heart Perspextive from the Monochrome Hearts pack and then a black heart beside the monster to form a visual triangle with the black Perspextives I had used on other parts of my layout. The "so good" phrase is from the Paper Snips 052|Lovely Music sheet.

I hope I've given you some ideas for using the June Fox Box Plus. This kit just screams fun and playful summer days! The kit ships on June 4, so be sure to subscribe before then!
