Lady with the pearl earrings!

Hi there Foxy Friends!

Today I'm sharing a layout to celebrate my Mum's birthday! Thankfully we were able to have her with us and although she dislikes having her photo taken I did get her to pose with her cards and pressies! The 'Right Now' perspextive from the August Fox Box was perfect and as always I couldn't resist sneaking in a few tiny hearts, I love them!

I did start by laying down a watercolour wash and had got as far as adding some copper splatters when I smudged chocolate on it!! There's a lesson to be learned...don't eat chocolate whilst scrapping! Instead, I chose a sheet of Heidi Swapp paper from the Storyline Chapters collection which had the right colours. I tore it in two and used a piece from the second bit to tuck behind the first. I die cut layered flowers and foliage sprigs from some paper scraps and as Mum always wears pearl earrings I used the tiny pearls to embellish the flowers.

I always have a supply of petite perspextives to hand and the hearts were the perfect colours!

I like to tie little bits to the word perspextive to draw the eye and here I've used a tiny tassel, a sentiment banner and some coordinating threads.

I wanted to add some coppers splatters but in order to avoid any more mishaps I used the end of a cocktail stick to apply the paint, it's a great way to make perfect dots!

I love that BF are now selling dies and I've had lots of use out of the sets released to date! It's really handy that the tabs are the right size for using on branding strips. I cut a few to tuck in around my photo and down my torn edge!

If you haven't already bought any, check out the one I used here

I'm pleased with how the page came together and hope I've given you some ideas.

I'll be back next month with some new projects, until then..... Happy Scrapping!

Philippa x
