Summer sunshine!

Hi there Foxy Friends!

Today I'm sharing a layout about sunny, summer, saturday afternoons as a child with my bestie! Lyn and I spent hours in the garden climbing trees, riding my trike, making daisy chains, playing in the summer house and if we weren't stripping off we were dressing up!

I've used papers and ephemera from Paige Evan's Bloom Street collection so I started by putting down a watercolour wash in corresponding colours with a few splatters. I love my Bramble Fox Bubble Edger and I used it to cut strips from one of the papers to form my border.

I chose my photo and cut a frame using one of the new dies in store. I decided to add some stitching along the bottom and a wooden embellishment from my stash.

I tucked lots of floral ephemera into the border along with fussy cut flowers and butterflies. I also popped in an arrow perspextive and one of the tiny hearts, they are so useful!

I knew I was going to use the 'summer sunshine' perspextive and to make the white stand out a bit more I added watercolour around the letters and suspended a Paige Evans butterfly charm to draw the eye.

I added my journalling, a few sequins and pearls and some clusters of threads and my layout was complete!

During lockdown Lyn and I, who are still friends after all these years. have been sending each other photos we've come across whilst having a clear out and we've taken a few trips down memory lane! I've enjoyed using some of these old photos with modern papers in a contemporary way. Maybe my layout will inspire you to dig out some childhood photos!!

I'll be back next month with more projects, until then.......

Happy scrapping and stay safe xx
