A big title for a big photo | Virginia Greco
Hi foxy friends, Virginia here with a new layout to share with you.
For today’s project, I tried something different from what I normally do. In fact, I decided to use a big photo (7,5” x 6”) and a big title, taking advantage of the fantastic “Adventure” acrylic by Bramble Fox. I paired it with the lovely hot air balloon perxpectives that were recently added to the Bramble Fox online store.
As my picture is about a fantastic visit to the Yosemite Park in California, I chose a background paper whose theme is inspired by camping and outdoor activities. I love that, even though the pattern is busy, it is also light because there is quite a lot of white and very small icons.
In order to make the photo stand out against the background, I backed it first with a light blue paper from the same outdoor themed collection – which matches the water of the pond in the background paper – and then with a lovely woodgrain pattern.
I anchored the title, i.e. the “Adventure” acrylic, to the top edge of the photo and I backed it too with the woodgrain paper, so that it is more readable than it would be on the busy background design.
Since there is no pink in my layout, but rather little red details, I decided to slightly alter my hot air balloons and replace the pink elements with red cardstock. In the case of the open white balloon, I backed it with red paper and then I inserted and glued only the light blue elements, while for the full little balloon, I covered its top part with the same red cardstock. I also decided to add more interest and dimension by wrapping them with some colourful cotton thread.
I wanted to include some more embellishments, besides those beautiful perxpectives, thus I fussy cut from a pocket page card an image of a mountain with a tent and a camp fire and I attached it next to the photo with some adhesive foam. Finally, I sprinkled around some enamel dots in different colours.
I had lots of fun creating this project and I love that big blocky title! Definitely, you should give it a try. I hope you liked this project too. You can find a process video for it on the Bramble Fox Youtube channel.
Stay safe and see you soon with a new project.
