Stash Busting MemoryDex | Morag Cutts
Hi there. I hope you are all safe and well. I have had a lot more time in my craftroom lately so I fancied a change from making scrapbook layouts. I have been eyeing the MemoryDex idea originated by Heidi Swapp. There are awesome examples out there and I wanted to play along.
For those of you who are not familiar, these cards fit in the Heidi Swapp Memorydex or the original Roladex and swap with other crafters. I have neither so I'll be making my own at some point. I cut out the base cards on my Silhouette and I have created 2 sets using scraps and left over die-cuts, stickers, etc.
This is the second set I made - they are travel themed as I have loads of travel related goodies. After stitching around the base (2 envleopes and 1 die-cut), I started decorating.
Pull out your left over pieces and layer! It takes a bit of getting used to and took me longer than it looks! This one has a couple of tags inside which can be pulled out.
It's an awesome way of using up bits and pieces - they don't have to match and you can use lots! I added lots of different Perspextives - a good way to break into that hoard!
My first set of cards are also based on envelopes. Again, I dug into my boxes of die-cuts and ephemera to decorate.
I've made a quick video on Instagram. Check it out for all the lush details!
I hope that I have inspired you to create with your left over bits and pieces. You don't need to make Memorydex - you could go for standard index cards.
Stay safe and happy crafting!
