Tying the knot!

Hi there Foxy Friends!

Just a week ago, my youngest daughter was a bridesmaid for the first time and I decided to scrap some of the photos she'd sent me for my final February layout. I loved the heart frame in the February Fox Box but red just didn't fit with the colour scheme! Here's how I went about creating my page.....

The Heidi Swapp Honey & Spice Collection is perfect for my photos, the dusky pinks and plum shades pick up on the colours in the beautiful bouquets.

I started by adding a watercolour background to plain white cardstock in those same colours using the packaging technique but I ended up covering it! Sometimes that happens! I then chose the papers I wanted to use and cut up the tiled paper into large and small blocks. The larger blocks have a machine stitched border using gold thread (ends left hanging) whilst the edges of the smaller squares were distressed and highlighted with gold paint. The bride wore a gold dress and I wanted accents of gold to reflect this.

I used fine sandpaper to rough up the little frame and then added a base coat of white acrylic paint. Once it was thoroughly dry I dry brushed over it with a gold acrylic paint. I love the distressed look! As the photos I was using were landscape I decided to use the frame for my journalling which I printed on to one of the cards from a cut apart sheet.

I added the tiny white key from the Tokens of Love collection and some gold flakes.

The layout was on my desk for a couple of days whilst I was deciding how to bring it all together. I had some BF butterflies in my stash and decided to give them the Midas touch too! I also added tiny vellum butterflies to the top of them.

The photos are mounted on a section of papers with the addition of white tissue and scraps of net and ribbon.

I raised some of the squares on foam pads and added gold sequins in clusters. I distressed the edges of the white cardstock background and highlighted them with gold paint. I'm pleased with how it came together and plan to scrap more wedding photos using the Honey & Spice collection. I have a few bits and pieces on order from BF that I'll be sneaking on to my pages too. I love the versatility of perspextives!

We do enjoy seeing your layouts on the BF Facebook page and if you have a go at altering any of your perspectives to fit a colour theme do share the results!

Why not hop over to the shop and take a look at all the gorgeous new goodies including some butterflies in a scrumptious pink colour way?

Until next month, Happy Scrapping!
