Oh What Fun with a puppy in the house!
Hello there Foxy Friends!
I can't believe Christmas Day is nearly here and this is my last blog post of 2019!
At this point I'm usually much further on with my preparations but since becoming a dog owner for the first time ever, life has taken on a new perspective! I am sharing a 12x12 layout featuring Rory our dachshund puppy who has been with us less than two weeks and is already dominating our lives and causing chaos!!
The beautiful festive red Oh What Fun perspextive couldn't be more appropriate!
I don't own an electronic cutting machine but fortunately I have a friend who does! I came across this cut file called Dachshund Subway Art listing the attributes of a dachshund and I just had to have it!
I wanted my layout to be seasonal without necessarily using lots of Christmas papers. I pulled out various plain and patterned papers in red and green from my stash and backed the cut file.
I love the versatility of the petite perspextives and decided to pop one of the open hearts over the O in Proud!
To balance my layout I created a scene across the foot of the page using one of the tiny houses and trees from the December Fox Box. Instead of leaving the torn edges of the paper plain I added gold ink for that festive touch! I did start out with gold splatters but for fun decided to turn them into paw prints!
I layered Rory's photo with various tags tied with red and white bakers twine, added red pom pom trim, Christmas presents cut from an old greetings card (nothing goes to waste!) and made Rory the bow tie!
Here's a close up of him for cuteness, just look at those big eyes!
I used the inside pieces from two of the trees to create my embellishment (top rh corner) just adding some gold threads and punched red paper circles for berries.
I love how the finished layout turned out! No doubt the first of many featuring the little chap!
All that remains is for me to wish you a very Happy Christmas and a fun 2020! I look forward to being back in the New Year with more designs using perspextives from the fab January Fox Box!
