Here comes summer!!
Hello foxy friends!
I created this 12 x 12 layout over a couple of days of what seemed like non stop rain!! Here we are in June and at the moment it doesn't feel very summery at all, I hope that by the time you read this it really will be Flaming June!!
I wanted to create a background in bright, hot colours so I pulled out my Distress Oxide inks in picked raspberry, spiced marmalade and twisted citron, once dry I added Pinkfresh studio liquid watercolours in bubblegum and sunshine, the names alone made me feel better! I took a straw and blew some trails whilst the watercolour was still wet!
I was looking at the bright yellow Summer sunglasses perspextive and dug out a photo of my youngest daughter taken on a red hot day back in 2014. It was a fun, crazy summer when she graduated and started following new roads!
I love the vibrant colours of Paige Evans Horizon collection and I had bits and pieces on my desk along with bits from my stash. I decided to add some hearts using Shimmerz Dazzler in spun sugar, ooh, candy floss!!!
I layered up my photo and added a strip of pleated paper, ruffled cello, hot pink ric rac braid, small pieces of torn papers and a tiny yellow heart.
The little cluster with the yellow arrow (bottom left) was added later. I took my white gel pen and outlined various splatters and marks made with the distress inks, die cut some bunting and found the chipboard sunglasses and leaves. Now I really felt summery!
The summer sunglasses come with two extra tiny pairs of sun glasses, one in hot pink the other in black (I'd already used those on another layout). Do check out the store for more summery perspextives in readiness for all the gorgeous layouts you'll be creating about your summer days!
I'll be back next month with another layout documenting my summer adventures!
Until then, happy scrapping!
